Othonial Wilcox Perry Jr., lovingly known to all as "Pete," of South Kingstown, Rhode Island, and a member of the Narragansett Indian Tribe passed away peacefully on May 25, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on December 15, 1951, in South Kingstown, Rhode Island, Pete lived a life defined by hard work, laughter, loyalty, and unconditional love for those around him.
Pete is remembered with love for his parents, Mildred E. Robinson Perry and Othonial W. Perry, both of whom preceded him in death.
A proud graduate of South Kingstown High School, Pete built many respected careers throughout his life. Known for his unmatched work ethic and dedication, he worked as an arborist, the Rhode Island State Department of Transportation, Tefft Landscaping Company, USPS Transport, and most recently served as Manager of Shipping and Receiving at Atec Inc. in South Kingstown. No matter the role, Pete brought pride, strength, and commitment to everything he did.
In embracing the role of husband, Pete also wholeheartedly embraced the role of stepfather. He became a steady guiding force who loved and nurtured his blended family as his own. Through his actions, he showed that parenthood is defined not by biology, but by presence, patience, sacrifice, and unwavering support. His family was the center of his world, and the love he gave so freely will continue to live on through each of them.
Outside of work and family life, Pete was a legend in the softball community. An avid softball player for many years, he proudly played on countless teams and earned numerous Home Run Derby victories throughout his lifetime. Affectionately known by many as "The Legend," Pete left an unforgettable mark on the local softball community through both his talent and larger-than-life personality.
Pete also enjoyed basketball, cheering on his beloved Baltimore Orioles and Indianapolis Colts, and spending time surrounded by the people he loved most. He was known by all for his funny personality, quick wit, warm hospitality, generous spirit, and unforgettable smile that could light up any room. Whether through a joke, a helping hand, or simply his presence, Pete made people feel welcomed and loved.
Pete leaves behind his loving wife, Kimberley Westcott with whom he shared 36 wonderful years together and 26 years of marriage.
He is also survived by his son, Justin Rodriguez; his stepchildren, Emmeline Westcott Zinno , Nicholas Westcott, KatiA Westcott, Robert "Bo" Westcott; Brandi Cotto Santagio Fry ,and Nerson Cotto Santagio as well as his adored grandchildren.
He is further survived by his siblings: Drusilla Anderson; Sharon Perry; Debra Perry; Lawrence Perry Sr.; Darin Perry; Chris Perry; and Shawn Perry.
Pete was predeceased by Dawn Perry, Thayer Perry, and Tina Perry.
Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Rhode Island.
A gathering to celebrate Pete's life will follow immediately after the services.
Pete's legacy of love, laughter, strength, and devotion to family will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
