Rev. Dr. Judith M. Silva, 66, of Carolina, Puerto Rico, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2026, in Philadelphia. Born and raised in Providence, RI, she was a daughter of the late John N. Silva and Joyce S. (Bourne) Silva.

After graduating from Classical High in Providence, Judith received her seminary training at Yale Divinity School and Union Theological's Blanton Peale Institute. Judith was ordained a Minister, in 1999, through First Church of God, Anderson, IN.

Judith had been employed at the VA Medical Center in San Juan, Puerto Rico, for the last five years as Chief of Chaplaincy. Prior to that she had served the communities as a Chaplain and Pastoral Counselor in several northeastern cities, as well as the Cleveland and Mayo Clinics.

She is survived by her two siblings, John E. Silva, from Salinas, CA, and Joanne Silva-Njoku, from Wakefield, RI. She has a sister-in-law, Natalie Lujan-Silva, also from Salinas.

Judith has four beloved nieces and nephews, Martin J. Silva and Alejandra X. Silva-Perryman in CA, Evangeline Matisse Silva in NH, and Ugonna Watson Njoku in Wakefield.

Judith was forever faithful to family, friends, community and her Lord.

A church service will be held on Saturday, July 18th, 2026 at 11 AM in The Peace Dale First Church of God, 209 Allen Ave, Peace Dale. Burial will follow in New Fernwood Cemetery, Kingston. Repast to follow at the church.
