Linus Peter
Sheehan
Nov 17, 1957 — Jul 23, 2026
Linus Peter Sheehan, known to most as Peter, 68, of Wakefield, passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at his residence. He was the beloved husband of Pamela (Richardson) Sheehan with whom he shared 42 years of marriage.
Born in Providence, on November 17, 1957, to Rose Dawson (Lodge) and Linus A. Sheehan.
Though Peter received many accolades throughout his life, his family wishes to remember him most for the way he treated others-with kindness, generosity, and genuine warmth. Even with the many blessings and opportunities he had in life, he remained giving and gracious to everyone he met. He was proud to start the South Kingstown Youth Lacrosse League-Go Sharks!-and coach lacrosse at Moses Brown School. In his spare time Peter enjoyed playing sports with his friends, particularly golf and lacrosse, and skiing and going to the beach with his family.
Above all, Peter loved his family deeply. He lived a full and active life, giving generously of his time, talents, and heart to the people and communities around him.
In addition to his wife, Pamela, he is survived by his two sons, Stuart Sheehan and his wife Julia of Narragansett and Edwin Sheehan of Wakefield; his three grandchildren, Margo and Cameron Sheehan of Narragansett and Isabella Franke of Germany; his four sisters, Kathy Sullivan and her late husband Terry of Cape Cod, Betsy Walsh and her husband Jack of Providence, Nita McDonald and her husband Tom of Narragansett, Rosemary Rotelli and her husband Peter of Rumford.
His Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2026, from 4-8 PM in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, RI 02879. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 31, 2026, at 10 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 128 High St., Wakefield, RI 02879.
