Marilyn A. Rice, 85 of Narragansett, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 17th. Born in South Kingstown, the youngest of 15, to her parents the late Clarence and Ruth (Edwards) Barrington. She was the devoted wife to Bruce Rice for 67 beautiful years.

Marilyn will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished friend whose kindness touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. She dedicated many years of service to the National Rural Letter Carriers' Association before enjoying a well-earned retirement.

Above all else, Marilyn's greatest joy was her family. She created a home filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support, always putting the needs of others before her own. She loved spending time with her family boating on Salt Pond, camping, bowling or playing a good game of poker.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her children, Sharon Rice and Pamela Sheehan and her husband James Sheehan . She is predeceased by her siblings, Wellsley Barrington, Virginia Barrington, Douglas Barrington, Carolyn Stanley, Kenneth Barringotn, Barbara Bonner, Wayne Barrington, Beverly Barrington, Margaret Moorehead, Dale Barrington, Craig Barrington, Ruth Lucas, Wilfred Barrington and Ronald Barrington.

A memorial service will be held for Marilyn on Thursday, July 23rd at 11 am in Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield, RI 02879.
