William R. Wombolt

March 18, 1938 — August 19, 2024

William “Bill” Raymond Wombolt of Narragansett, RI, peacefully passed away on Monday August 21, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 18, 1938 in Providence, RI to Timothy Leo Wombolt and Julia Ann Neslusan Ondrasek Wombolt. Bill was the devoted husband to Maureen (Farrelly) Wombolt to whom he would be celebrating 65 years of marriage in December.


Bill was a retired Navy Veteran. He also spent 30 years working at Leviton Manufacturing and 6 years at The Trailer Connection. He was also a volunteer for the Boy Scouts and coached for the 1970 State Championship Edgewood-South Elmwood Little League.


Bill is survived by his 3 children, William R Wombolt (Heather Waterman), Julie M Guadalupe (Samuel), and David H Arnold (Julia), all of Rhode Island. Bill was Grumpy to 5 grandchildren, Eric W. Robinson jr, Cynthia Charron (Alexander Handanyan), Tyler Guadalupe (Arly), Camron Arnold and Makenzie Arnold and one brother, Robert Wombolt.


Bill will always be known for his charismatic smile and witty sense of humor. He was an avid boater, baker, and never turned down a chocolate chip cookie himself. Bill was a role model to many in the Narragansett area, his reach spanning several generations. Above all, Bill was an amazing husband, and still referred to Maureen as his bride.


He is pre-deceased by his parents, one brother, Timothy Leo Wombolt jr and his sister in law, Ann Signore Wombolt.


Calling hours will be held on Monday, August 26th from 10-11 am in Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield, 02879. Funeral service and burial will be private.
