William Shields

William W. Shields, 91, of South Kingstown, passed away Monday, January 26, 2015. Born in Scotland, he was the son of the late William & Catherine Shields. Mr. Shields worked as a boat builder, carpenter’s mate in the US Coast Guard during WWII, wood craftsman, carpenter and homebuilder. In his early days he loved skating, skiing, and he always loved the ocean and enjoyed sailing and spending time with his family. He leaves a son Dave Shields and his wife Deborah of GA; a daughter Susie Suben and her husband Rick of New City, NY; grandchildren, Craig Shields and his wife Melissa, Michael Suben and his wife Carrie, Jennifer Suben, Lauri Moyer and her husband Joe and six great grandchildren, Melanie, Aiden, Adele, Ethan, Kailei and Mitchell. His sister Barbara Bailey and her family the Thackaberry’s and the Guillan’s. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ardsley United Methodist Church, 525 Ashford Avenue, Ardsley NY 10502.
