William R. Rebh

January 5, 1925 — January 3, 2025

William R. Rebh of Wakefield, passed away peacefully Friday, January 3, 2025, two days shy of his 100th birthday. He was the devoted husband of Mary F. (Markle) Rebh.


Along with his wife, he is survived by his three children Kathleen Currie of Sarasota, Florida, William Rebh and his wife Doreen of South Kingstown, Rhode Island, Susan Tweedale and her husband Don of Syracuse, New York, eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Mary Youngerman, brother John Rebh, and son-in-law John Currie.


Born in Alliance, Ohio, January 5th, 1925 to Stephan and Mary (Kesegich) Rebh, Bill graduated from Alliance High School. He was a veteran of World War II and served in Belgium during the Battle of the Bulge where he received a Purple Heart.


Bill received his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Wayne State University and his MBA from Union College. He met the love of his life, Mary while working in Michigan. They were married August 13th, 1955 and spent many wonderful years in Poughkeepsie, New York where Bill worked as an engineer and manager for IBM before retiring in 1987.


Bill enjoyed woodworking and was an accomplished clockmaker. He was an avid builder of model planes and flew RC planes for years. He spent many hours trout fishing, golfing with Mary, and skiing with his family. He and Mary loved to travel and spent over thirty winters in their happy place, Siesta Key, Florida.


The family is grateful to the devoted staff at Elderwood of Scallop Shell for their compassionate care of Bill and Mary, and Harmony Hospice for the comfort they provided in his final days.
