William Myron Pratt

William Myron Pratt, 92 of Pasture Lane, Charlestown died June 22, 2022 at Roberts Health Center in North Kingstown. He was the husband to the late Eleanor Pratt for fifty-four years before her passing in 2005. Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Edwin and Martha (Taylor) Pratt. Mr. Pratt was a veteran of the Korean War and a master carpenter most of his life. He built his first home at Gaspee Point, Warwick, before the age of 20. He continued building homes in Warwick with his brother Robert as Pratt Brother Builders. Eventually there was a third partner and the trio started Tri County Builders, building several homes in North Kingstown and East Greenwich. After retiring he started Bill Pratt Builders with his son. Mr. Pratt was a graduate of Aldrich High School, Warwick. He was a Member and Deacon of the Cross Mills Baptist Church, Charlestown. He was a co-founder of Charlestown Village in Charlestown, and one of the original founders of Green Hill Beach Club, Green Hill. Mr. Pratt was a lifelong resident of Green Hill and had lived on the pond, in well built homes, since the mid 1950s, before moving to Charlestown. He loved boating and always had one ready, big or small, for fun times on Green Hill Pond and trips to Block Island, Nantucket, and Martha’s Vineyard. He participated in the Rhode Island Tuna Tournament and the Block Island Billfish Tournament for several years. He also enjoyed several years of skiing in the White Mountains of New Hampshire with his family and friends. Mr. Pratt leaves behind two daughters, Jane McLaughlin of Wakefield and Barbara Kelly and her husband John Kelly Jr, of Charlestown, a sister Linda Ruscio of Warwick as well as Jane’s partner Steve Ellis. In addition he leaves seven grandchildren; Dr. John Kelly III, Jennifer Kelly, William Pratt III, Robert McLaughlin, Jason McLaughlin, PA Erin Smith, and Patrick McLaughlin. He was the proud great grandfather of five great grandchildren. He was the father of the late William Pratt Jr and Nancy Pratt, brother of the late: Edwin Pratt Jr., Robert Pratt, Donald Pratt, Carolyn Dalton , and David Pratt. Visiting hours will be held June 26, 2022 4-6 P.M. in the Avery Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St, Wakefield, RI. The Funeral Service with Military Honors will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cross Mills, Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1165, Charlestown, RI, 02813.
