William A. Orlandi, 68, of Westerly,R.I.died Sept.16 at the South County Hospital. He was the devoted and loving husband of Jo Ann Orlandi, and proud father of Brian M. Orlandi of Portsmouth N.H.He was born in Everett, MA. to the late Alveraldo Orlandi and Rose (Santoianni) Orlandi.He was a graduate of Everett H.S.and Boston University.A real estate developer at the time of his death,William was a manager for the Harvard Coop in Cambridge, MA. as well as Brooks Brothers in Boston.He opened a children's clothing boutique called The Little Peoples Shop, and provided business and financial consulting to the House of Bianchi bridal company, among others.William also served on and chaired the Finance and Advisory Commission for the town of Stoneham, MA.He had a lifelong interest in model railroading, and counted listening to Frank Sinatra, watching Fred Astaire movies, and singing as his favorite pastimes.Fiercely loyal and generous,William was known for his impeccable sense of style and great wit.His zest for life and ability to uplift others were beyond compare.In addition to his wife and son, William is survived by daughter-in-law Jennifer Gifford, grandchildren John Leo and Meghan Rose Orlandi of Portsmouth, N.H.,mother-in law Laura Whitely,sisters-in-law Jane Whitely and Barbara Bootwright,brother-in-law William Bootwright, neices Jessica Gray, Jennifer Gray, Sammie Bootwright, and nephew Russell Bootwright, all of Richmond, Va, and his "kids" Mittens and Scooter.William was predeceased by his brother Carl.Burial will be private in Richmond, Va, and a celebration of his life will be held in Westerly at a future date for his friends and colleagues who will miss him very much.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to South County Hospital-ICU, Frost 2, 100 Kenyon Ave, Wakefield, R.I. 02879,The Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels, 1717 Allient Ave, Suite 14, Louisville, KY, and Stand up for Animals, 33 Larry Hirsh Lane, P.O.
