William T. O'Malley, 65, of Kingston, died Friday at home. He was the beloved husband of Sheila (Sullivan) O’Malley. Born in Natick, MA he was a son of the late Anthony V. and Regina J. (Rogers) O’Malley. Mr. O’Malley served as a professional librarian and faculty member at the University of Rhode Island Library for 42 years, retiring in June of 2008. He very much enjoyed his stay there. He loved his family, reading, book collecting, art, theatre and gardening. Besides his wife, he is survived by four children; Sheila K. O’Malley, of Weehawken, NJ, Brendan W.S. O’Malley of Los Angeles, CA, Jean G. Westcott and her husband Patrick of Narragansett, Siobhan G. O’Malley of New York, NY,; a grandson, Cashel O’Malley; three brothers, Anthony & Marianne O’Malley of Nashua, NH, Terence and Diane O’Malley of Quincy, MA, Thomas and Betsy O’Malley of Norwalk, CT; a sister Regina O’Malley of Cortlandt Manor, NY; brother–in-law of Anne (Sullivan)and Warren Fowler of Port Charlotte, FL, Geraldine (Sullivan) and Douglas McCarthy of Needham, MA, Timothy and Maryann Sullivan of Natick, MA, Katy Sullivan and Bill Scott of Dighton, son-in-law of A. Geraldine Sullivan of Wellesley, MA and the late Joseph T. Sullivan. He was the brother of the late James and Joseph O’Malley and brother-in-law of the late Michael Sullivan. The funeral will be 8:45 AM Tuesday from the AVERY-STORTI Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Christ the King Church, 180 Old North Road, Kingston.
