William W. Mitchell, 82, formerly of Robinson Street, Narragansett, died Monday at home in his son’s arms, surrounded by his family Born in Greenville, RI, he was a son of the late Marion Ottinger, and he has been a resident of Narragansett for over 40 years. Mr. Mitchell worked for the US Postal Service for 37 years. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict , was the Past Commander of the American Legion Post # 39, was the original member of the South Kingstown Rangers and he played for the Narragansett Townies Football Team. He is survived by a son, Brian W. Mitchell of Narragansett ; a sister Avis Fanning of Greenville; and three nieces and a nephew. He was the father of the late Keith W. Mitchell. Visiting hours will be 12 – 1 PM Tuesday followed by funeral service at 1 PM at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield. Burial will follow in New Fernwood Cemetery, Kingston.
