William L. Mcniff

William L. McNiff, 86, of Pettaquamscutt Lake Rd., Narragansett, died Wednesday. He was the husband of the late Mary (Kalis) McNiff; father of William L. McNiff Jr. of Providence, Stephen J. and Robert J. McNiff both of Narragansett and brother of Thomas McNiff of Warwick. Mr. McNiff was a graduate of La Salle Academy where he was All State in Hockey, Basball, Track and Football. He was a Staff Sgt. with the US Marines during W.W. II serving in the Pacific Theatre and also serving during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a loan officer for Avco Finance for thirty years and a custodian for U.R.I. Bay Campus for seventeen years before retiring in 2004. He served as Vice President of Pop Warner Football and was an avid Boston Bruins Fan. The funeral will be held Tuesday at 8:30 AM From the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Thomas More Church, 53 Rockland St., Narragansett. Burial with military honors will be in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
