William D. Bill Lawing, Iii

William Dennis Lawing III (“Bill”) of Peace Dale passed away peacefully at home on May 16, 2016. Bill was born on September 21, 1960 in Fort Bragg, North Carolina to Nancy and William Dennis Lawing Jr. He lived in Raleigh, North Carolina until moving to Narragansett in 1969. He graduated from Narragansett High School and attended The University of Rhode Island. He married Annette Tetreault Lawing in 1985. Bill was a cook, chef and small business owner. He was a talented drummer, musician and songwriter and was active in the local music scene for many years. Bill’s humor, honesty and good nature touched everyone who knew him and he will be dearly missed. He was taken from us too soon. He is survived by his parents, his wife, his children Nicholas Lawing and wife Severine Perru and Chelsea Lawing Creighton and her husband Jack, his dog-son Riley, and his brothers Scott Lawing and wife Claire and Bruce Lawing and wife Julia and their four daughters. Visitation hours will be Monday May 23rd from 4-7 PM at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St, Wakefield. A service will immediately follow at the same location. A jam session in Bill’s honor will be held at the Ocean Mist in Matunuck on Sunday, May 22 from 8-11 PM.
