William T. “Bill” Lacerte, 74, of Indian Run, Wakefield, died Tuesday, June 30th. Born July 26, 1934 in Johnston, he was a son of the late Edward J. and Eva M. (Adams) Lacerte. Mr. Lacerte was a car re-conditioner and had worked for Tony’s Auto Body, Gordon Chevrolet, Paul Baileys, all in North Kingstown and Fred Smith’s dealership in Wakefield. He loved Antique Cars and had a great ability in recognizing all makes and models of automobiles, whether old or new. One of his favorite hobbies was to go down to Galilee and watch the Block Island Ferry and fishing boats come in and out of the Harbor. He was fascinated at how the Sea Gulls would stay with the fishing vessels, almost like escorts as they came in and out of port. He also enjoyed walks on the beach. Bill was well known to all of the businesses at Dale Carlia Corner. He is survived by a brother George Lacerte of Johnston, and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Milton, Frank, Robert and Lillian Lacerte. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
