William "Kook" Koukas, Jr.

William “Kook” Koukas, Jr., 81 of Narragansett passed away Friday, May 13, 2022. He was the husband of Thelma (Gardiner) Koukas. Born in Joliet, IL, he was the son of the late William Koukas Sr. and Claire (Crow) Koukas. After serving in the US Coast Guard, Kook had many jobs. From mechanic to service manager at Paul Bailey’s to heavy equipment operator. After graduating from New England Tech for electronics, he was hired as an instructor. Kook excelled at everything he did. After retiring he was known as Mr. Fix It. He always said there was nothing he couldn’t fix. Besides his wife he leaves his sons, Roger Koukas and Vincent Koukas (Dawn); his brother in laws, George and Robert Gardiner; his grandchildren, Nicholas, Glen, Joel, Ethan, Audra, Dayna and Devin; great grandchildren, Emma, Sara, Olivia, Wesson and Jack and Brayden. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 17, 2022 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am in Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Wakefield. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association of RI, 245 Waterman St #306, Providence, RI 02906.
