William (Bill) Howard Hodshon, 92, of Charlestown, RI, died peacefully on Thursday. He was the beloved husband of Peggy (Nash) Hodshon for 67 years. Born in Danbury, CT he was the son of the late Howard and Isabel (Miller) Hodshon. Bill attended Bethel High School and after graduation he served in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict. During this time he was commissioned on The U.S.S Braine, a Fletcher Class Naval destroyer. After the Navy, Bill worked for almost 30 years at Schlumberger-Doll, in Ridgefield CT, the world's largest oilfield services company. Bill was a summer resident of Charlestown for 25 years until moving there year round in 1985. In his retirement, he served on the Charlestown Zoning Board for 10 years. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife, machining and carpentry in his basement workshop and enjoying time at the beach with his grandchildren. Besides his wife he is survived by four children, Jane Keane, William H. Hodshon, Jr. and Robert J. Hodshon, of Charlestown, and Barbara A. Hodshon of Bridgewater, CT. He is also survived by his five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, James T. Hodshon as well as three sisters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 9:30 am in St. James Chapel, 2079 Matunuck Schoolhouse Road, Charlestown.
