William Dale Durfee

William D. “Bill” Durfee of Charlestown, was called to heaven on Monday September 12 at the age of 75. Bill was born on April 15, 1947 in Wakefield Rhode Island, the son of the late William and Lillian Durfee.

Bill was retired from his job at BAE Systems, and could often be found clamming, crabbing and oystering in Ninigret Pond, where he generously shared the fruits of his labor. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family at ‘the pond’, and was known for his annual cookouts, taking his granddaughters on boat rides, and his devotion to the church.

Bill leaves behind his three daughters, Tracy (Durfee) Hansen and her husband Daniel of Bellingham, MA, Kimberly (Durfee) Biggs and her husband Robert of Wakefield, MA, and Erin (Durfee) Kalajian and her husband Mike of Blackstone, MA. In addition to his daughters, Bill leaves behind his brother Lawson Durfee of Wakefield, RI, seven grandchildren: Kayla and Sarah Hansen, Francesca and Lillian Biggs, and Emily, Hannah and Madelyn Kalajian, along with dear friend and companion Connie Loftus of Wakefield, RI.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at 10:00am at the Harbor Church at 263 Waites Corner Road, West Kingston, Rhode Island 02892. Burial will be private.
