William R. Dickinson

July 21, 1941 — December 2, 2024

William “Bill” Dickinson passed away peacefully Monday, December 2, 2024 overlooking Narragansett Bay. He lived 83 wonderful years and the joys of his life were his wife Miki, his children Chris & Betsy and his grandchildren Maddy & Will. Born in Pittsfield, MA, he studied Industrial Engineering and earned his MBA at the University of Connecticut and then served in the United States Navy.

An avid gardener, a master tinkerer, founding member of the MikJer Fishing Tournament & Fish Fry and a veteran of Bonnet’s Liar’s Poker Club, Bill loved spending time with his dogs and family, especially along the shores of Narragansett Bay quahogging, fishing and musseling. In addition to extensive travel with his wife of 60 years, Bill contributed significant time and energy to the Little League, Little Miss Softball, and Knights of Columbus (Vernon, CT) as well as the Bonnet Shores Council and Land Trust and Meals on Wheels (Narragansett, RI).

He is survived by his wife; his son Chris Dickinson and his wife Donna Haghighat of East Longmeadow, MA; his daughter Betsy Motyl and husband Al Motyl of North Kingstown, RI; and his grandchildren Maddy & Will Dickinson. He was a good man who will be sorely missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider honoring his memory by donating to the Aplastic Anemia & MDS International Foundation or the Alzheimer’s Association.
