William R. Dickey

With heavy hearts, we share the tragic loss of Bill Dickey, a man whose deep love for the ocean was a constant in his life. Bill found peace swimming in the sea every day, but his life was sadly cut short while swimming in the rough waters off Scarborough Beach, RI, on September 26, 2024.

A devoted father, Bill is survived by his children: William C. Dickey of Westerly, RI; Steven Dickey of Narragansett, RI; and Rachel Dickey of Honolulu, HI. He was also a proud grandfather to three wonderful grandchildren: Lo'i and Koa DeLeon, and William Q. Dickey.

Bill leaves behind his loving father, William D. Dickey of Sandwich; his sisters, Diane Longchamps of Wellfleet and Karen Murray of Bridgewater; and his brothers, Brian Dickey of Holyoke, Paul Dickey of Boxford, and Ronald Dickey of Sagamore Beach. His family, including his siblings' spouses, nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends, will forever cherish his memory.

Bill’s adventurous spirit, his unwavering love for the ocean, and his deep devotion to his family will never be forgotten. As the co-owner of Salt Pond Builders, Bill was a visionary and successful business owner who brought countless dream homes to life.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 11, 2024, from 11:30 - 3:30, at the Coast Guard House, 40 Ocean Road, Narragansett, RI. This will be a time of reflection, laughter, and love, as we remember a man whose warmth, kindness, and spirit touched us all.

Rest in peace, Bill, in the waters you so dearly loved.
