William J. Camille, Sr. of Wrentham, MA passed away surrounded by his family on November 18, 2023, after a brief illness. He was born in East Providence to Joseph F. Camille and Theresa Coelho and after their passing, was raised by his uncle and aunt, William and Florence Oliveira. He was married to Patricia (McSally) Camille for 58 years prior to her passing in 2015.
Known as Bill to most and Coach to many, he fully lived his 88 years, most of which were spent in Pawtucket raising his family of five children, at Carpenter’s Beach Meadow for many summers and finally settling in Narragansett with Patsy for their golden years.
Bill is survived by his sisters Maria MacDonald (Neil) of Marblehead, MA and Kathleen Little (Craig) of Tuscon, AZ and his children, William J. Camille, Jr. of Everett, MA and daughter in law, Joyce Ciampi of Lynnfield, MA; Dawn Maxwell of Cranston, RI; Kimberly Camille of Belize; Lisa Murray (Kevin) of Attleboro, MA and Cheryl Robertson (Andy) of Wrentham, MA, with whom he lived. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Andrea Horton, Lindsey Asan, Mackenzie Maxwell (Brandice), Taylor Maxwell (Jeanette), Andrew White (Debbie), Alex Murray (Maru), Samuel Murray, Jack Murray (Marissa), and Jane, Maggie, Malcolm, William and Teddy Robertson, as well as his great grandchildren Devin, Julian and Roselyn Horton, Alana, Nicolas and Luciano Asan, Avalyn and Briella Maxwell, Avery Pulsone and Charles Murray. Bill was predeceased in June by his ever doting and loving son in law, Raymond Maxwell, whom he sorely missed.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at 11am in St. Thomas More Church, 53 Rockland St, Narragansett. Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery, Peace Dale. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 5 -7 pm in Avery-Storti Funeral Home, immediately followed by Evening Prayer.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bill’s name to HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904 where Bill spent his final days in the care of their kind and loving staff to whom our family is eternally grateful.
