William C. Ballou

William C. Ballou, 85, of Wakefield and formerly of Saunderstown, died Saturday. He was the beloved husband of Corinne (Hodgson) Ballou for 61 years. Born in Blackstone, MA, he was a son of the late William E. and Mary L. (Clark) Ballou. Mr. Ballou was a corporate executive for the American Locomotive Company and Picker International. He served in the US Army Air Corp during WW II. In his spare time he enjoyed working in his yard and in his workshop. Besides his wife he is survived by, three sons, William C. Ballou of Shrewsbury, MA, Robert C. Ballou of Old Greenwich, CT, and Edwin C. Ballou of North Kingstown; six grandchildren, one great-grandson; and a sister, Patricia Staudinger of Wakefield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 9:30 AM at Christ the King Church, 180 Old North Road, Kingston. Burial with military honors will follow in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted and kindly omit flowers.
