Willard J. "Jeff" Smith

March 17, 1946 — April 25, 2024

Willard J. "Jeff" Smith, 78, of Carolina, RI passed away at home Thursday, April 25th surrounded by his loving family and wife of 35 years, Marcy (Pointek) Smith. Born in Providence, RI, Jeff was the beloved son of the late Willard and Helen (Fagan) Smith.


In college, Jeff played football for the University of Arizona. He was a successful contractor and portrait artist. He played the guitar, enjoyed fishing and loved to play golf, helping anyone who wanted to improve their game.


Jeff is survived by his daughter, Megan Barnett and her husband John; son, Kyle J. Smith and two grandchildren, Sophia and Micah Barnett. He is the sibling of Christine Connor, Linda Williams, Susan Reilly and Mark Viselli. He is pre-deceased by his brother, John Viselli and sister, Marion St. Pierre.


Visitation will be held on Friday, May 3rd beginning from 10-11 am followed by a celebration of life at 11:00 am in St. Mary's Church, 437 Carolina Back Rd, Charlestown, RI 02813. Family and friends are invited to a gathering at Pinecrest Golf Course, 25 Pinehurst Drive, Carolina, RI 02812 following Jeff’s services.
