Wilfred T. San Souci

September 7, 1927 — February 2, 2015

Wilfred T. San Souci, "Will", 87, passed away on Monday, February 2, 2015. Born in Providence, Will was the son of the late Thomas L. and Mary G. San Souci. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 60 years, Anne (Barry) San Souci. Will was a dedicated family man and father of three daughters- Beth (Brian) Kavanagh of Wakefield, Patrice (Kevin) Kane of Warwick, and Leah San Souci of Newton, MA. He was the proud grandfather of Morgan Kane, Erin Kane, and Tory Kavanagh, who affectionately called him ‘Grandy’. He is also survived by his six Cotter nephews and many wonderful friends and caregivers. Will graduated from Providence College in 1947 and remained an avid Friar Basketball fan for life. He served in the U.S Army Counterintelligence Corps during the Korean Conflict. A Narragansett resident for 40 years, Will moved to Brightview Commons of Wakefield in 2011. He had a special devotion to St. Jude, enjoyed time at Narragansett Beach, loved jazz music, and was a non-stop reader. Few days passed without him reading the newspaper from cover to cover. Will was a people person; he loved a friendly conversation and a good laugh. Will’s professional life spanned nearly 50 years in the metals and wire trade. He was ‘on the road’ every week and his sales career moved the family to NJ, GA, and OH. Will continued to work as a consultant in the metals industry until the age of 81. Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at St. Thomas More Church, 53 Rockland Street, Narragansett, RI on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 10AM. The family respectfully omits calling hours and the burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, gifts in Will’s memory may be made to the San Souci Memorial Scholarship (NHS), c/o Bank Newport, 90 Point Judith Road, Narragansett, RI 02882.
