Wilfred E. Lizotte, Jr., 92, of Narragansett, passed away Saturday. He was the beloved husband of Barbara A. (Parker) Lizotte for 68 years. Born in Fall River, MA, he was a son of the late Wilfred, Sr. and Florida (Rioux) Lizotte. Mr. Lizotte was employed for the Providence Gas Company for many years, retiring in 1987. After retiring he moved to Florida, returning to Rhode Island in 2003. He served honorably in the United States Army during World War II. He was meticulous about cutting and the appearance of his lawn. He enjoyed riding his tractor and smoking a Dinapoli Parodi Cigar as he manicured his yard. Besides his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Barbara Medeiros of Bristol, Shirley Marchione of Narragansett, Joyce A. Bazinet of Narragansett, and Nancy Kellogg of Richmond; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 am Thursday at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield. Burial with military honors will follow in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours are Wednesday 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, PO Box 2151, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38101-2151.
