Warren B. Wright, 85, of Narragansett, died Sunday. He was the beloved husband of the late Sandra (McCormack) Wright. Born in Cranston, he was a son of the late William J. and Sara Mae (Jones) Wright. Mr. Wright was a firefighter for the Town of Narragansett from 1958-1988, retiring at the rank of Lieutenant. He served honorably in the Rhode Island National Guard from 1950-1965 achieving the rank of First Lieutenant, and was activated during the Korean Conflict. He was awarded with the Sturgeon Award from the Boy Scouts of America for his work with the Narragansett Fire Department Explorers Troop 1, he was past president of the Mettatuxet Improvement Association, and he was a member of Local 1589 IAFF Narragansett. He is survived by a son, Curtis Wright of Lake Hopatcong, NJ; three grandchildren, Melissa Ardis, Kyle Wright, and Meghan Wright; a great-grandson, Liam Ardis; two brothers, Ted Wright of Narragansett and Ken Wright of FL; and three sisters, Zella Westcott of Narragansett, Ruth McQuade of MA, and Janet Wilson of Narragansett. A memorial service will be held at 11 am Saturday in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield. Burial will take place privately in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
