LCDR Warren W. Seekell, USN (Ret.), 83, Narragansett, passed away Saturday. He was the husband of Ruth (Williams) Seekell for sixty-three years. Born in Hyannis, MA, he was the son of the late George B. and Jessie E. (Pierce) Seekell of Taunton, MA. CDR Seekell enlisted in the Navy Combat Air Crew training program in December 1944. After promotions to Chief Petty Officer, he was commissioned an Ensign and retired as LCDR in 1974. He was a specialist in Air Anti-Submarine Warfare and Air Intelligence. After military retirement, CDR Seekell attended URI, graduating in 1979 with a degree in music. He was organist and choir director at Calvary Bible Church, Narragansett for many years and taught piano privately. In addition to his wife, he leaves five children, Carolyn Cunningham, Wayne, Roger, Audrey Saint and Philip; twenty–three grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren. The funeral will be held Friday at 11:00 AM in Calvary Bible Church, 32 Avice St., Narragansett. Burial with military honors will be in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours Thursday 4-7 PM in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to Calvary Bible Church.
