Waltraud “Wally” Eddy, 89, formerly of Wakefield, passed away Sunday November 22nd. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph H. Eddy, Jr. Born in Rabenseifen, Czechoslovakia, she was a daughter of the late Rudolf and Leopoldina (Jung) Frank. In her younger years, Wally enjoyed working with her late husband Joe and her children on Salt Pond. She was very fond of her home across from Old Mountain Field, where she lived for over 50 years. This was a place where she enjoyed raising her family, tending to her flower garden, and what brought her true happiness were her daily walks in the woods with her dogs and cats, that she had adopted over the years. She loved the beauty in nature and the countless abandoned animals she cared for over the years. Wally be forever in our hearts as a loving mother to all. She is survived by two sons, Michael D. Eddy of New Hampshire and John A. Eddy of Maine; and five grandchildren, Sophia, Sarah, Launa, Alex, and Jason. She also leaves a brother and sister living in Germany. Funeral services will be private, and burial will take place in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Animal Rescue RI, Attn: Kara Calderone, PO Box 458, Wakefield, RI 02880.
