Walter Scott Elliot

Walter Scott Elliott, 74, of westerly, passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2018. Born in Shelton, WA, he was the son of the late Walter and Jean (McCann) Elliott. Scott was a decorated US Army Captain who served during the Vietnam War as a reconnaissance pilot. He continued his military career as a helicopter pilot, serving in Germany and South Korea. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart Metal for his valor during the war. During his free time, Scott enjoyed golfing and spending time with his daughters. He is survived by his children Kristen A. Stewart and her husband Kyle of West Kingston, and Rebecca L. Magee of Pawcatuck, CT; grandchildren Madison and Jake Stewart and his ex wife Jeanne Elliott of Wakefield. A celebration of life hours will be on October 13th. Saturday from 1-3pm at the Haversham Tavern in Westerly, 336 Post Rd, Westerly, RI 02891. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warriors Program, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8517.
