Vivian Ann LaPlante Lombardi of Wakefield, RI, went home to the Lord on July 2, 2024, surrounded by her family at the age of 83. She was born July 23, 1940, in West Warwick, RI. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Conrad and Annette Laplante and late sister, Arline St. Jean. She was also the beloved wife of the late Edward V. Lombardi, and the mother to the late Robin Harris. She was a communicant of St. Francis of Asissi Parish in Wakefield.
Vivian is survived by her children Dawn Phelps and her husband Mark, Cindy Bernier and her husband Dennis, Mark Lombardi and his wife Donna and son-in-law Paul and his wife Sue. Forever cherished and remembered by her 13 grandchildren, Nick and his wife Katy, Paul, Chelsea and her husband Ryan, Noah and his partner Sam, Monique, Ben and Jack, Wayne and his partner Savannah, Matthew and his fiancée Hannah, Noelle and her partner Tyler, Nathan, Jennifer and her partner John, Tommy and his wife Hannah. Great grandchildren, Grady, Sloane, Milo, Mabel, Vivian, Colton, Violet, Paisley, Amelia, and Silas.
Her memory lives on with her nieces and nephews and their families. Kyle, Erica, Timmy, Amy and Chris and their families. She will also be greatly missed by her many cousins, extended family and friends.
Vivian grew up in West Warwick, where she met and married her husband, raised her family in Coventry and they eventually moved to Wakefield to enjoy the beaches. She was a cosmetician by profession and managed a Yankee Candle store. Raising 4 children she worked various part time jobs selling Jafra as well as volunteering as a poll worker and was a 14-year volunteer for the PanMass Challenge/Dana-Farber.
Vivian cherished spending time with her family and friends, traveling, loved flowers and gardening, but most of all Vivian loved meeting people and talking to everyone she met.
Vivian traveled to Florida with her family to visit the Lombardi family and New Jersey to visit the St Jean family. In later years she adventured to England with a close work friend. It was her annual vacations with her children to Ashland, New Hampshire and Rangely, Maine that brought her joy in her later years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at 10:00am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 114 High Street, South Kingston, RI 02879. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, from 4:00pm - 7:00pm at Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, RI 02879. Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery, George Schaeffer Street, Wakefield, RI 02879.
