Virginia W. Taylor, 93, of Wakefield, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2016. She was the dear friend of the late Carl Becker. Born in South Kingstown, she was a daughter of the late Harry E. and Elizabeth (Wilcox) Taylor. Virginia was employed at M.T Stevens, Sneaker King, and Kenyon’s Dept. Store. She was a member of the Community Church of God, the Daughters of America, the South Kingstown Senior Center, and the Narragansett Senior Center. She is survived by two grandchildren, Thomas Blight and Kimberly Thibodeau, both of Florida; five great-grandchildren; a cousin Susan Day and her husband Stephen of Ashaway; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Judie Blight and sister of the late Lewis Barber, Mildred Smith, and Violet Tomlinson. Her funeral service will be private. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Animal Rescue Rhode Island, PO Box 458, Wakefield, RI 02880.
