Virgil Wayne Mckeehan

(Virgil) Wayne McKeehan Jr., 57, of South Kingstown, passed away on Friday, March 18th. He was born in Fort Lauderdale, FL to Virgil Sr. and Shirley (Todd) McKeehan, who preceded him by death. Wayne is survived by his wife Maria (Hoehling) and their two daughters Madeline and Polyanna, all of Wakefield, RI, his daughter, Lauren McKeehan and her kids in Texarkana, AR, and Mandy Pace of Annona, Texas. Wayne served in the U.S. Army during the Kuwait Liberation. He received his Associates Degree and Registered Nurse training at UAHT, where his wife, Maria, also worked at the time. Fellow students and former instructors always had kind words when it came to Wayne. Wayne was a nurse on the frontlines of COVID from working at a rural hospital in Arkansas, where he first contracted COVID, to working for homebound patients at his last job in Rhode Island. He loved nature, feeding the birds, and our loving pets.
