Vincent Celmer Rose, Jr.

Vincent (Vin) Rose of Kingston, passed away peacefully in his home on January 2, 2023 at the age of 92. He was predeceased by Alberta, his loving wife of over 60 years. Besides his wife, he is survived by his three sons, daughter-in-law, five grandchildren, as well as his 2004 Saturn.

Born and raised in Tiverton, Vin was the only son of Vincent and Esther (Peckham) Rose. He went on to earn a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Missouri and had a long career teaching Chemical Engineering at URI (he also served as the Associate Dean of the Graduate School). Vin enjoyed participating on various volunteer boards, including Save the Bay, the Fayerweather Craft Guild and the Kingston Water District among others.

A kind and humble man, Vin was wise beyond his degrees. He was practical and caring and his memory will be cherished by all who knew him.

A celebration of life will be planned at a future date.
