Vincent Marenghi, 86, passed away on Sunday, August 23rd, at his South Kingstown home surrounded by his loving family. Vincent was born on March 8, 1935 and grew up in Brooklyn, NY. Prior to his retirement, Vincent was a dedicated and steadfast union business agent for the Teamsters Local 282 in New York. Vincent moved to Rhode Island in the early 1990s. He loved the sun, sand, and tranquility of Rhode Island beaches and was a beloved member of the Bonnet Shores Beach Community for over 23 years. An accomplished craftsman and abstract artist, Vincent’s work was exhibited in many venues throughout Rhode Island including AS2020, Celestial Café, and Gallery Z. Vincent indeed was multifaceted, known for his friendly smile, genuine laugh, and ability to connect with others. Vincent treasured his family, artist friends, and beach buddies Above all, Vincent was a devoted husband, father, brother and grandfather. He leaves behind his wife- Myrina (Cardella) Marenghi and his son-Vincent A. and daughter in law Katherine Marenghi, and his grandson, Luca Marenghi, all of Warwick, RI. Vincent is also survived by two sisters Julia and Nancy Marenghi. He is preceded in death by his siblings, Mille, Sophie, Maria and Tony Marenghi. A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, August 26 from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM at Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield, RI. Masks are required.
