Verda May Tarbox

Verda M. Tarbox, 91, of Wakefield, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2020, due to COVID-19. Born in South Kingstown, the daughter of the late William and Lillis (Smith) Tarbox. Verda worked in housekeeping for South County Hospital for 29 years retiring in 1989. She enjoyed hooking rugs, painting and collecting dolls. She is survived by her nephews, Thomas A. Rhodes, Jr. of Wakefield and Jared L. Rhodes of Ashaway; her sister-in-law, Marjorie Tarbox of Wakefield; along with many other nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late William Tarbox, Jr., Everett Tarbox, Grace Tarbox, Dorcas Brayman, Ruth Rhodes, Mary Stedman. Her funeral services will be private. She will be buried in Riverside Cemetery with her parents. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Church of the Ascension, 370 Main St., Wakefield, RI 02879.
