Vera Jane Oborne, 90, of Wakefield, RI passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 9th, 2026 at South County Hospital. She was the wife of the late John S. Oborne. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Gerturde (Hall) Ingerson. She was predeceased by her sister, Helen and her brother, Frederick.

Vera worked in her earlier days at the Scallop Shell Nursing Home in Wakefield, RI as an activities coordinator for many years. Vera was an avid reader of many English novels and world history. She enjoyed a mystery novel now and then and supported our local libraries. Her love for animals was always present even after she lost her adopted, beloved Daisy dog.

She is survived by sons, Stephen J. Oborne of Charlestown, RI and David J. Oborne of Westerly, RI and her daughter, Patricia J. Oborne, of Wakefield, RI, three granddaughters, Rachel A. Leighty (and her Husband Jordan), Rebecca J. Oborne, and Sarah M. Oborne and five great grandchildren, Jack, Jenna, Jordan, Logan and Jacob.

Services for Vera will be private. A celebration of life for family will be honored at a later date by the seashore as she so cherished and wished....and with Daisy.
