Valerie was the daughter of the late, Joyce Champlin-Reels and Otis Bliss. She leaves behind four children. Chad Alan Champlin, Megan Lynn Champlin-Perry, Kellie Jean Champlin, Lesley Lynn Champlin. Her husband of 23 years, James G. Perry. She was predeceased by her son Cane Valley Spears. Valerie leaves behind her brothers, Stanley Reels, Jason Curt, Joey Stanton and Otis Stanton and sisters, Deserie Reels and Doreen Bliss. She was predeceased by her sisters and brothers, Deek Reels, Leslie Doran, Blanche Bliss and Otis Decosta. She leaves behind her grandchildren, Deja Stanzione, Adiranna Spears, Shakur Champlin, Jalen Dixon, Messiah Perry, Ma-laysia Perry and Malik Perry. Her great grandchildren, Aalayah Sherman, Aalaysia Sherman and Aiden Sherman. As well as, her aunts and uncles, Jane Potter, Judy Stanton, Jan Spears, June Burrell, Ray Champlin, Roger Champlin and Rodney Champlin. She is predeceased by her aunt, Jean Spears. She will also be forever loved and missed by many extended family members and close friends. Valerie was a C.N.A at South Kingstown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for 30 years. She worked with many co-workers that she would absolutely consider family. Valerie was a caring mother and grandmother, she was extremely family oriented and enjoyed her time spent with those she loved. Valerie was a phenomenal woman, one of kind. Who's voice was unique and certainly outspoken. Visiting hours will be Monday, May 10th 10-11am, at Avery-Storti Funeral Home with a service immediately following at 11am. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery after the funeral.
