Valentine R. Morin

Valentine R. Morin, 90, of Narragansett, Rhode Island (formally of Methuen, Massachusetts), peacefully passed away at home on February 12, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. Daughter of the late Jerome O. and Estelle (Nadeau) Dube, Valentine was born February 14th, 1930 in Greenwich, Connecticut sharing her birthday with her father and younger sister, the late Theresa Desell. Valentine was the mother of nine children, eight sons and one daughter. Despite her large family Valentine always made time for everyone. She always provided support and love for her family. She and her husband Julien worked tirelessly to provide opportunities for their children. Valentine was predeceased by her beloved husband, the late Julien “Bull” Morin; son Timothy Morin, sisters Lena Bernard, Irene Silva, Theresa Desell, Aline and Joyce Dube; brothers Albert “Ray”, Edgar “Ed”, Alfred and Omer Dube. She leaves behind brothers Larry Dube of Derry, NH; Richard Dube of Manchester, NH; Paul (Pete) Dube and his wife Elaine of Methuen, Ma; and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. She is survived by her only daughter Lisa Morin, grandson Ian Shea, and Lisa’s longtime partner, James Spaulding all of Narragansett, RI who devoted their time to providing invaluable care for many years. She is also survived by her sons and daughter inlaws; Michael and Angela Morin of Connecticut; Steven and Rebekah Morin of Ocala, Fl; David and Cynthia Morin of Londonderry, NH; Mary Morin of Ocala, Fl; Gregory and Stacey Morin of Methuen, Ma; Jonathan and Regina Morin of Haverhill, Ma; Douglas Morin of Lawrence, Ma; Brendan Morin of Bradford, Ma; and sister-in-law, Johanne Everard of Ocala, Fl. She leaves behind 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren who will forever remember her for her “Mémère hugs”, solitaire games, and the Matriarch that she was. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 15th, 2021 at 11:00am at St. Mary’s Star of the Sea, 864 Point Judith Rd. Narragansett, RI 02882.
