Timothy M. Wholey, 76, of Naragansett, died Wednesday April 4, 2012 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of Elsa (Thiessen) Wholey. Born in Cranston, he was the son of the late Joseph S. and Helen J. (McGrath) Wholey. Tim was a graduate of Fordham University. He worked professionally in New York City for twenty three years. He then became Vice President of Group Living at the Ocean Tides School for sixteen years before retiring. In retirement, Tim was an avid reader and writer. He wrote for the Narragansett Times and East Greenwich Pendulum. Tim enjoyed opera and loved spending time with his six grandchildren, Jack, Liam, Ella, Declan, Nuala and Hope. He was the father of Kerry, Mark and Patrick Wholey; brother of Joseph, Dennis, Nora and Ann. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday April 11, 2012 at 9:00 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 114 High St. Wakefield. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours Tuesday April 10, 2012 from 4 to 7 PM in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Tomorrow Fund, 593 Eddy St., Providence, RI 02903.
