Thomas R. Phillips, Jr.

Thomas R. Phillips Jr., 77, formerly of Narragansett and South Kingstown, died Saturday. He was the husband of the late Janice (Peckham) Phillips. Born in Patterson, New Jersey, he was a son of the late Thomas R. Sr. and Virginia (Conine) Phillips. Mr. Phillips was employed by the State of Rhode island, retiring in 1992. He enjoyed camping and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by two daughters, Joyce Whitman of West Warwick and Jerrilyn White of Cranston; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and a brother John Phillips of Wakefield. A funeral service will be Friday at 11 AM in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield. Burial will be private in the Phillips Family Cemetery, Exeter.
