Thomas J Meikle

Thomas J. Meikle, 81, of Wakefield, died Sunday at South County Hospital. He was the husband of Jane LaFountain Meikle. Born in Willimantic, CT, he was a son of the late Thomas J. Sr. and Martha (Lux) Meikle. Mr Meikle was a US Navy Veteran of WW II, Korea and Vietnam, retiring after 31 years as Chief Petty Officer. He enjoyed camping, fishing and the outdoors. He was the father of Peter, Bruce and Nicole Burnett; brother of Philip, David and Robert Meikle, Carol Moulton and Mary Ellen Dyjak; step-father of Deborah Hope, Dawna Bates, Denise Angiolilli, Darlene Hope, Dena Maine and Douglas LaFountain; grandfather of 16 and great grandfather of 2. Visitation will be held Friday 10-11 AM followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield. Burial with military honors will be in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
