Thomas F. Mclaughlin, Jr.

Thomas Francis McLaughlin, Jr., 63, of Wakefield, RI, formerly of S. Burlington, VT, passed away at home on August 15, 2018 surrounded by his wife and children. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Thomas F. and Barbara (Duffy) McLaughlin and husband to Denise (Williams) McLaughlin. Tom spent his childhood between Mt. Pleasant and Matunuck. He graduated from South Kingstown High School and URI. Tom and Denise lived in S. Burlington, VT for 33 years where they raised their two children and where Tom spent his career working in the cable TV and wireless industry. He was devoted to his family and was active in his community, in both RI and VT. Tom loved to ski, play golf, and was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. He enjoyed researching his family ancestry and helped in organizing several McLaughlin family reunions. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Thomas W. McLaughlin and Kelsey L. McLaughlin and his siblings Bobbie Fay, Susan Carlson, Kate ONeil (Mike), Maggie LaChance (Matt), John McLaughlin, Ann Ciminero, Peter McLaughlin (Jill), and Paul McLaughlin. He was pre-deceased by his sister Lisa McLaughlin. He is also survived by countless friends and relatives too numerous to mention. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday August 21, 2018 at 10:00 AM in St. Romuald Chapel in Matunuck. Calling hours Monday August 20 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm in Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield. Burial will be private.
