Thomas W. Dixon III, 72, passed peacefully at his home on August 21, 2025.
“Guess what?…” Tom was an icon in the port of Point Judith, working proudly with RI Engine and the Gallup family—whom he held dear—for over four decades. Tom was quick to lend a hand to those in need, always with a smile and, more than likely, a story or two.
Outside of work, he made the rounds to local establishments, always looking for good company—and to see who had the best on “special” tonight.
Being a father might’ve been his favorite thing, but being an honorary “Grandpa Tom” to many close family members was a real close second.
The only son of Thomas “Bill” Dixon Jr. and Pauline Dixon (McGrath), Tom is survived by his daughter, Kelly Roman (Dixon), and her husband, Edwin, of Paris, TN; grandchildren Tristan Smith of Paris, TN, and John Earley of Peace Dale. He is also survived by his sister and closest friend, Debra Jerald, as well as his sister, Sheila Dixon. Tom also leaves his nephews Kevin Worsham (Shelby) and Jake Jerald (Kara).
Tom was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Reba Worsham.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at the Bon Vue Inn in Point Judith, from 4–6 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Point Judith Fishermen’s Memorial Foundation, P.O. Box 3315 Narragansett, RI 02882
