Thomas W. Dittmar

Thomas W. Dittmar, 67, of South County Trail, Charlestown, died unexpectedly Tuesday at home. A longtime Narragansett resident, he was the husband of Jeanne (Fish) Dittmar. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Carl & Louise (Hutter) Dittmar. Mr. Dittmar was a lifelong Point Judith commercial fisherman and former owner of the F/V Jeanne. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Vietnam conflict, stationed in Point Judith. Besides his beloved wife he leaves two daughters, Kristine Maletta and Kimberly Iemma; a son, Ronald Iemma, and 4 grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 11:00 AM in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 864 Pt. Judith Rd., Narragansett. Burial will be private. Visiting hours Friday 6-8 PM in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St. Wakefield. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the Point Judith Fisherman’s Scholarship Fund, P.O.
