Therese "Terri" Elise (McNeil) McCrorie, 89, of Wakefield, RI, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born in 1936 in Central Falls, RI, she was the daughter of the late William and Olivette (Houle) McNeil.
A 1954 graduate of Notre Dame Academy, Terri was a participant on the girls basketball team. Her ties to the school continued for 70 years, with annual gatherings with her graduating class.
Terri married in 1959 and her most proud accomplishment was raising a family of 4 girls. She was preceded in death by her daughter Jeanne (Mark McSweeney). She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her three surviving children: Julie Collins (Walter) of Narragansett, RI, Joyce Emery of Fort Thomas, KY, and Cindy Petrides (Steven) of Kennett Square, PA. She is also survived by 7 cherished grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren: Ellen McSweeney, Molly McSweeney, Daniel and Ada and Shay McSweeney, Kailin and Andie and Kaia Collins, Ryan and Cian Collins, Shayne Collins and Benjamin Emery.
Terri had a quick smile, laughed easily, and had a great sense of humor. She was known for her love of knitting, walking RI beaches, reading, writing poetry, playing Scrabble, and charitable giving. She was a deeply spiritual and devoted member of the church, and put her faith into practice by teaching CCD, volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, and Meals on Wheels. She worked at Zambarano Hospital and RI Traffic Court.
Terri is survived by siblings Rita (Schreiber), Doris (Mercier) Laurette (Landry), Andy, Raymond, Henri, and Paul.
Terri was preceded in death by her former husband, Edward McCrorie, and her siblings Cecile, Diane, and Richard.
Visitation for Terri will be held on Friday, June 12th, 2026 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 114 High St., Wakefield. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Peace Dale.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Habitat for Humanity, a cause close to her heart.
