Theresa McQuaid, 86, of Wakefield, died Friday. She was the devoted and beloved life partner of Jim Poisson. Born in White Plains, NY, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Catherine (Wightwick) Klug. She was a graduate of the College of Mount Saint Vincent in Riverdale, NY and Fordham University in the Bronx, NY. Ms. McQuaid was a social worker and psychotherapist in private practice for many years. She was a poet, animal lover, and compassionate friend and mentor. Besides her life partner, she leaves behind three children; John McQuaid and his wife Trish Clay of Silver Spring, MD, Cate McQuaid of East Providence, and Beth McQuaid and her husband Bob Hirsch of Wickford; and four grandchildren: Matthew and Hannah McQuaid, and Lucy and Caroline Hirsch. She was the sister of the late Joseph Klug of Charlotte, NC, and Sister Catherine Marie of the Monastery of Our Lady of the Rosary in Summit, NJ. A memorial service will take place at a later date.
