Terrance James Horan

Terrance J. Horan, 78 of Narragansett, RI and formerly of Massachusetts, passed away Tuesday. He was the husband of Sandra (Smith) Horan for 21 years. Born in Hartford, CT, he was the son of the late Edward and Dorothea (Smith) Horan. He along with his father raised Llewellyn Terriers and did field trials for bird hunting. Mr. Horan earned his Bachelors degree from UMASS - Dartmouth. He was a Vietnam Era Army Veteran stationed in Germany as a finance officer. During his time in Europe he learned how to fly helicopters. Mr. Horans professional career was a licensed Insurance Agent, but he had a great love for fishing and was an accomplished fisherman who ran a fishing charter service out of Hyannis and Falmouth Massachusetts. In his younger years he was a Guidance Counselor at Old Rochester High School in Mattapoisett, MA. When he was not fishing he enjoyed golfing and skiing. Besides his wife he is survived by three daughters, Kimberly Budryk of Tewksbury, MA, Melissa Joyell of Bradenton, FL, and Cheryl Bailey of Coventry, RI; five grandchildren; and his beloved dog "Skipper". Visiting hours will be held at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Tuesday Nov 12th from 12:00 12:30 pm followed by a celebration of his life at 12:30pm, where family and friends are encouraged to share a story. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made RI Saltwater Anglers Assn., PO Box 1465, Coventry, RI 02816, to support the annual "Take a Kid Fishing Day".
