Susan Carr Stover, age 71, passed away on May 23, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Susan lost her brave battle with peritoneal (ovarian) cancer. She is predeceased by her parents Elinore and Eldon Carr. Susan was born November 24, 1943, in Morganton, North Carolina, and lived in Charlotte, NC for many years until her family moved to Armonk, NY in 1960. Sue graduated from Pleasantville High School in 1962. Susan lived in Armonk for 38 years, becoming involved in the community and making many friends. Susan had three daughters, Laura, Nancy and Luci. She moved to Wakefield, RI in 1998, marrying William Herbert Stover in 1999, and becoming the step-mother of Andrew and Christopher. Susan was an avid gardener and artist, hobbies which she enjoyed sharing with all of her children and grandchildren. Susan worked as a bookkeeper and office manager for most of her life, and was very involved in her church. Susan is survived by her husband William Herbert Stover; her three daughters: Laura Labriola of Rye, NY, Nancy McAloon (Stephen) of Hingham, MA and Luci Labriola-Cuffe (James Cuffe) of Armonk, NY; her brother David Carr (Sanna Porte) of Helena, MT and his daughter Maggie Carr of Choteau, MT; and her step-sons Andrew Stover of Virginia Beach, VA and Christopher Stover (Anna) of Baltimore, MD. She is also survived by her six beautiful grandchildren, Elinore, T.J., Kylie, Lukas, Emmett and Amelia, as well as many other relatives and friends. Sue will be greatly missed for her kindness, grace, and friendship. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 27 at St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church, 15 Lower College Road, Kingston RI from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM with service to follow. A wake service will be held on Friday May 29 at Fred Knapp and Sons Funeral Home 267 Greenwich Avenue, Greenwich, CT from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 30 at 10:00 AM at the Stanwich Congregational Church Cemetery located on Taconic Road, Greenwich, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Augustine’s Episcopal Center of URI (www.staugustineuri.org) or to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (www.ovarian.org).
