Susan Jean Kimball, 53, of Allen Avenue, Wakefield, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday September 2, 2012. She was the wife of Toby Kimball of Wakefield, RI. Born in Hartford, CT, she moved to Wakefield, RI. in 2002. Susan was an accomplished nail technician for over 30 years and enjoyed many educational and professional endeavors in her lifetime. She was an avid hobbyist, who most recently enjoyed beading, sewing and quilting. Susan is survived by her mother, Thelma Jutras of Cheshire, CT, her brother Wayne Jutras of Windsor Locks, CT, and her sister Victoria Kniering of Cheshire, CT. She is further survived by her daughter Ashley Colletti and granddaughter Selena Colletti (of Vernon, CT), her daughter Chelsea Colletti (of North Smithfield, RI), her son A.J. Colletti (of Wakefield, RI), and her stepson Matthew Kimball. As per Susan's wishes, a private memorial gathering will be conducted for family and close friends at a later date. Her nearly 8-year struggle with Stage 4 Breast Cancer and its many complications brought Susan closer to her family and friends as she endured many difficult medical pathways. Many have remarked on her ability to “persevere” in the face of adversity for so long. In lieu of flowers, Susan has asked that you to make a contribution to a planned installation sculpture dedicated to that greater virtue, “Perseverance”, scheduled for the courtyard at South Kingstown High School. Please make checks payable to "South Kingstown High School" with the words “Susan Kimball” in the comment line and mailed to SKHS – c/o Josie Fox, 215 Columbia Street, Wakefield RI 02879.
