Susan P. Gibbs

Susan P. Gibbs, 71, of Charlestown, RI, passed away on Sunday December 10. She was the beloved wife of Pete Gibbs for 25 years. Born May 17, 1946 in Neenah, WI, she graduated from Ft. Atkinson High School and later the University of WI, Stout. Susan adored spending time with family and friends. Whether at home in Rhode Island or vacationing, she enjoyed entertaining visitors and surrounding herself with loved ones. In preparation for visits, and often while visiting others, Susan would use her creative flair for interior design and landscape architecture to transform ordinary spaces into spectacular places. She was not only the idea-woman behind the transformations, but also the foreman and crew. Susan had boundless energy for projects and family. There was always room for you at Susans table or patio. Besides her beloved husband, she is survived by; a daughter, Angela Yost of WI, a son Roy (Courtney) Gibbs of Hamilton, MA, four grandchildren, Alex Munson (WI), Tyler Munson (WI), Destiny Kolve (WI) and Whitaker Gibbs (MA); a brother, Everal Pelton (CA); a sister, Sally Rushlow (MI) and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eleanor and Everal Pelton (WI), her eldest sister, Marietta Landwehr (WI), and her son, Douglas Yost (WI). She will be remembered for being wonderful to everyone. Funeral services are private.
