Susan J. Cox (Rosbottom), 49, of Kingston, RI left this world after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She died peacefully at home early Christmas morning. Sue was the beloved wife of Clint Cox and she was the loving and devoted mother of Alexandra S. N. Cox, the true joy of Sue's life. After graduating from the University of Rhode Island, Sue earned a Master's degree from Johnson and Wales University and went on to serve as a respected professor in its School of Business for over 20 years. She served as co-chair of the Marketing Department Faculty Development Fund, the Retail Program Review Committee, and The College of Business Writing in Disciplines Advisory Board. During her tenure, Sue received the College of Business Special Recognition Award and the University Special Merit Award from the Providence Campus of Johnson & Wales University, as well as a Leadership Award from the North Miami Campus. Sue was involved with the Girl Scouts of Rhode Island and was a volunteer for Monsignor Clarke Regional School. Born in Providence, RI she was the beloved daughter of Richard and Joan Rosbottom of Kerrville, Texas. She is also survived by her three brothers, Kenneth R. and his wife Arlene of Narragansett, RI, Steven R. of Fredricksburg, TX, and Donald R. and his wife Patti of South Kingstown, RI. Sue was the aunt of Katie and Liz Rosbottom of Narragansett, RI and the step-mother to Ashley and Marissa Cox. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 11 AM Saturday at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 383 Old North Road, Kingston. Visiting hours will be at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Friday 5-8 PM.
